After completing her art studies at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in 2004, she traveled to Venice for an internship at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection.

Since then, she has produced and exhibited her work in Chile and internationally, including at the Matthei Gallery, Arte Isabel Aninat Gallery, FAXXI Art Fair, ART STGO Art Fair, and Aqua Art Miami. Her work has also been acquired by numerous private collectors. Irarrázaval’s recent work revolves around color and the study of botany made even more intricate by a final layer of colored pencil over watercolor and acrylic figures.

Chile
Paz Irarrazaval

Using water-based materials, Chilean artist Paz Irarrázaval paints lush floral scenes that seem to cascade forth from the earth.

Through her pieces, she invites viewers to participate in the act of discovery as they immerse themselves in the hidden worlds of her jewel-toned “fictional environments.”

When asked what a dream project would be, Paz answered “Make a painting for a Hermes scarf.” This sounds like a perfect fit for her beautifully imagined world and her colorful, intricate designs.
